Dion Dawkins named Bills’ Walter Payton Man of the Year Award nominee

For the fourth consecutive season, Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Dion Dawkins has been named the team’s nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.

This prestigious honor recognizes an NFL player from each one of the 32 teams for his excellence on and off the field.

Whether it’s through gift donations, charity talent shows or his signature “Shnowday” field trips, hundreds of kids and families across Western New York have been impacted by Dawkins’ philanthropy efforts.

Through Dion’s foundation, Dion’s Dreamers, young men and women in underserved communities receive mentorship and support.

Just last month, acting Buffalo Mayor Chris Scanlon awarded Dion Dawkins with the key to the city.

“This is a man who leads with love, a man who leads with compassion, and that’s the kind of leader every city is lucky to have,” Scanlon said.

“This key represents something so much bigger than football to myself,” said Dawkins. “It represents every kid in the city who dares to dream big, who works hard and who believes they can make a difference.”
