Central North Carolina could see snow Monday with cold temperatures, black ice risk

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — A weak winter storm is expected to bring some snow to central North Carolina on Monday.
The system is expected to bring light, cold rain through the morning, which could transition into snow in the afternoon. A Winter Weather Advisory was issued for several counties starting Monday morning, lasting until noon on Tuesday.

This comes after a wintry mix impacted the region, particularly north of I-85, causing school closures just last week.
On Monday, snow accumulation is forecast to range from around half an inch across the Triad and Triangle regions and up to two inches near the Virginia border, according to the National Weather Service.
However, confidence in the exact amounts remains low and could change, our Meteorologists tell us.
Monday night will bring very cold temperatures, dropping into the teens, which could lead to patchy black ice overnight and into early Tuesday.
Morning temperatures on Tuesday are expected to be in the teens and low 20s, with milder conditions forecast for mid-week.
