Man killed as car crashes into medical centre

A man has died and a woman has been seriously injured in a horrific crash in Melbourne’s northwest.
The pedestrian was struck by a car while on the footpath near the intersection of Keilor Rd and Hoffmans Rd in Niddrie at about 9.30am on Monday.
The car then crashed into a medical centre.
The male pedestrian died at the scene.
A woman inside the medical centre was also hit by the car and was flown to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver, a 63-year-old Maribyrnong man, was transported to hospital with injuries under police guard.
“The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision remain ongoing,” a police statement read.
