‘NCIS: Origins’ Rounds Out Fed Five With Adam Kulbersh & Mark Deklin

NCIS: Origins has completed its mission to reunite the Fed Five task force in the 11th episode (“Feelin’ Alright?”) of Season 2, with the addition of Adam Kulbersh (Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family) and Mark Deklin (Blue Bloods, Glamorous) playing NIS Special Agent Felix Betts and NIS Special Agent Dan McLane, respectively.
The other three members of the group include Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) and Mike Franks (Kyle Schmidt), the lead characters on NCIS: Origins, and Dwayne Pride, who Deadline recently revealed exclusively will be played by Shea Buckner. Gibbs was initially played by Mark Harmon, Franks by Muse Watson, and Betts by Stuart Margolin.
The official character descriptions for Betts and McLane are as follows:
Betts is an auditor from the Los Angeles office who is brought in to Pendleton to help a new task force; McLane is a highly revered veteran field agent working out of the Panama office who is called in by the Camp Pendleton team to lead a joint task force aimed at stopping a stolen weapons ring.
The episode will heavily focus on Pride, who Scott Bakula portrayed on NCIS: New Orleans across the show’s seven seasons. A former Sheriff’s Deputy, NIS Special Agent Pride is a newly minted Probationary Special Agent from the NIS Panama office in the prequel series. He has a history with Gibbs, and the two must resolve their past tension as they go undercover on a case.
A little background on the Fed Five, the storyline was initially explored in a special two-part episode from Season 11 of NCIS: “Crescent City” Parts 1 (episode 18) and 2 (episode 19), which served as the backdoor pilot for NCIS: New Orleans and introduced Pride to the universe. The episodes investigate the murder of McLane, a former NIS agent turned congressman, and the Fed Five’s boss. With the 90s setting on Origins, the storyline works seamlessly as the task force disbanded in 1994.
Further details regarding the big episode are under wraps. For now, the plan is for the five-some to appear in one episode, but who knows what the future holds after the characters are introduced. It’s as yet unknown if the Privileged Killer case will be revisited.
NCIS: Origins is produced by CBS Studios. David J. North, Gina Lucita Monreal, Mark Harmon and Sean Harmon serve as executive producers.
Kulbersh is represented by Gray Talent Group.
Deklin is represented by Independent Artist Group and Crimson Media Group.
