BART is experiencing major delays

Two BART lines are down this morning and there is a major delay to all trains headed into and out of San Francisco, according to the transit agency.
BART posted several service alerts this morning, notifying riders about the problems. They include:
- No Green Line service. The Green Line runs from Berryessa/North San Jose through the southern part of the East Bay and Oakland until heading into San Francisco.
- No Red Line Service. The Red Line starts in Richmond, runs through Berkeley and other parts of the northern East Bay before heading into San Francisco.
- A major delay to train lines going into and out of San Francisco “due to a power issue between Powell and Embarcadero stations.”
The problems are impacting almost every train line. Only the Yellow Line is passing through the Transbay Tube, requiring riders from most East Bay locations to transfer to the Yellow Line in Oakland if headed to the West Bay.

Additionally, BART is notifying riders that the process of adding value to Clipper Cards at vending machines is glitchy. To successfully add value, the agency recommends “holding your Clipper card (not tapping) at the reader, then swipe payment/insert cash, select value, and then HOLD the Clipper card again until the transaction is done. Thank you for your patience.”
