A drought to end against seven-time victims: Zapata’s worrying record against Milan

In tonight’s game against Torino, AC Milan will face off against a player who knows all about scoring against them.
Torino are counting on Duvan Zapata to lead the attack against Milan. The Colombian is regaining his match rhythm after the serious injury that has sidelined him for most of 2025. Tonight will be his second Serie A start of the season, and he will not mind who the opponents are.
Repeated victims
Zapata has found the net in both previous matches against the Rossoneri with Torino, and has scored seven times against Milan in Serie A. Only against Sassuolo has he scored more in his career, with 10 goals. However, there is also a drought to end: he hasn’t scored since 5 October 2024, against Inter.
Alongside him in attack will be Che Adams, a player who has scored three times in the league so far this season but will roam a bit more, with Zapata the No.9. Baroni envisions a pairing that should create more than a few problems for Milans three-more defence, with their speed and physicality.
Zapata is likely to come up against Matteo Gabbia, who will almost certainly be the middle centre-back for Milan. It will be one of many key battles across the field that could determine the outcome of the match.
