Petit gives honest assessment of Man Utd star Mbeumo: He’s missing something…

Former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has opened up on Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo.
Mbeumo has started in all 13 of the Red Devils’ Premier League matches this term and has proven to be essential for manager Ruben Amorim whose dreams of qualifying for Europe are more than alive this season.

The 26-year-old moved to United in a deal worth up to £71M and has since bagged 5 goals and 1 assist in 14 appearances. Speaking to Snabbare, Petit has suggested that the winger could be compared to former Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette as he continues to impress under Amorim.
“I’m so happy for Bryan Mbeumo, I was a big fan of him when he was playing for Brentford, and I was not surprised when he was targeted by Manchester United.
“He reminds me of Alexandre Lacazette, they play in the same style. His movement, technical skills, the way he tries to link up with his teammates on the pitch. Mbeumo has probably been the best player so far from the start of the season for Manchester United. He’s a very intelligent guy. His movements are always clever, he’s clever technically as well as physically.
“Even if he’s not a tall guy, he’s a menace for defenders. He always gives 100% on the pitch, and it’s certain that the Manchester United fans are very happy that he signed for the club.
Mbeumo is set to be involved in Monday’s Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers before he heads off to the Africa Cup of Nations next week. However, as Mbeumo looks to make an impact once again, Petit has suggested that he can still add a lot to his game that may be missing one thing which could help improve his game.
“For me, he’s the leader on the pitch, the way he plays, the way he behaves, and I think his commitment is brilliant. Sometimes I feel, I’m thinking, it would be different if he could play with different players, especially up front with Manchester United.
“I have the feeling that he’s missing something, that being the right players around him.”
