Ex-Bradford City player bragged about drug dealing on Instagram

A FORMER Bradford City player who bragged about drug dealing in Instagram videos has been jailed for conspiracy to supply cocaine.

On Friday, Thierry Nevers, 23, was jailed alongside Allan Barrass, 50, after they admitted conspiracy to supply class A drugs.

Barrass also admitted possession of a sawn-off shotgun.

Nevers, of Severn Way, Tilehurst, Reading, was jailed for three years, while Barrass, of Main Street, Dorrington, Lincolnshire, was sentenced to 10 years behind bars.

In January 2023, Bradford City signed Nevers on loan from West Ham until the end of that season.

Lincolnshire Police noted suspicious activity in June that Barrass may be a drug dealer, and Nevers was later identified as a co-conspirator.

According to the force, Nevers was a well-known Instagram content creator and bragged about drug dealing in his videos. He had left West Ham permanently in January 2024.

Barrass was arrested on August 6 and a search of his property uncovered a sawn-off shotgun that was loaded with two cartridges.

Officers also seized 40 grams of cocaine, £5,860 worth of cash, along with numerous weapons, including a lock knife, an extending baton and a baseball bat.

A cannabis grow was also found in the garage.

Nevers was then arrested on August 13 and charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine.

He was remanded into custody, where he remained until sentencing.

Mobile phones seized from Nevers and Barrass showed contact between the two and evidence of class A drug dealing.

Detective Sergeant Adam Petty, who oversaw the investigation, said: “Drugs have a terrible impact on our communities and will never be tolerated.

“As well as the suffering caused to users, drug dealing brings violence and an uplift in theft offences, and often, as is seen in this case, the possession of dangerous weapons.

“We will continue to listen to the public and work with our communities to target anyone dealing drugs.

“We will persist in using every legal power at our disposal to ensure they are brought before the courts and are held accountable for the harm they cause.”

As well as the Bantams, winger Nevers also enjoyed loan spells at Reading and Newport County.

In January last year, he joined Moldovan Super Liga club Sheriff Tiraspol before signing for Croatian Football League club NK Varaždin in July last year.
