Lightning forwards Point, Kucherov set to return against Maple Leafs

The Tampa Bay Lightning will get two key players back in the lineup as they look to pad their lead atop the Atlantic Division.

Kucherov, who has 34 points (12 goals, 22 assists) in 25 games, missed Saturday’s contest against the New York Islanders with an undisclosed ailment.

Point, whose injury was also undisclosed, has missed seven straight. Prior to being sidelined, the Canadian, who has already been named to the Olympic team, struggled to just three goals and eight assists in 21 games.

However, Cooper said he expects the Russian not to miss much more time than that.

In 19 games this season, Vasilevskiy is 11-6-2 with a 2.31 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.

Tampa Bay lost both games that Vasilevskiy missed.

The Lightning sit four points ahead of the Maple Leafs in the Atlantic Division.
