Jalen Hurts Just Did Something That’s Never Happened in the NFL Before

Any time fans sit down to watch an NFL game, they likely hope you see something they’ve never seen before.
On “Monday Night Football” in Week 14, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts delivered a play that has never been recorded in NFL history and might not be seen again for quite a while.
In the second quarter of the game against the Los Angeles Chargers on the road at SoFi Stadium, Hurts dropped back and lasered a ball into the welcoming hands of a defender for an interception.
But then madness ensured.
Once the ball was clearly intercepted, the Chargers attempted to run it back for a pick-6 only for it to be punched out and bounce back into Hurts’ arms. After surveying his luck and turning to protect the ball, the Eagles quarterback got hammered by even more Chargers defenders, fumbling the ball for Los Angeles to scoop up.

In the span of a single play, Hurts registered two turnovers.
The play was a microcosm of many of the issues that have plagued the defending Super Bowl champions this season.
Philadelphia is coming off back-to-back losses to conference rivals, falling to the Dallas Cowboys after leading 21-0 then dropping a contest to the Chicago Bears on Black Friday.

The team attempted to lighten the mood during the week by bringing an inflatable Easter Bunny into the locker room, hoping it would change the vibes and bring good fortune.
A few days later, their quarterback accomplished an infamous feat that has never happened in NFL recorded history, dating back to 1978.
