Powerball player wins big in Western Washington. Where was lucky ticket sold?

A Powerball ticket sold in Western Washington missed the jackpot but still won big, according to lottery officials.

The lucky ticket was purchased at a convenience store in Sedro-Woolley, a spokesperson for Washington’s Lottery told The Bellingham Herald.

The winning ticket matched four white balls and the red Powerball in the Saturday, Dec. 6, drawing, winning $50,000 according to the national Powerball website.

A Powerball ticket sold in Eastern Washington also matched four white balls and the Powerball in Saturday’s drawing to net a $50,000 prize, lottery officials said.

Where were winning Powerball tickets sold?

One of the winning Powerball tickets was sold at Handy Mart, 500 State St in Sedro-Woolley, according to the Washington’s Lottery spokesperson.

Sedro-Woolley is about a 30-minute drive from Bellingham.

The other lucky ticket was purchased at a Safeway grocery store at 121 West Walnut St. in Newport, the spokesman said.

What were winning Powerball numbers?

The numbers in the Powerball drawing on Saturday, Dec. 6, were 13, 14, 26, 28, 44 with a red Powerball of 7.

The double play numbers were 4, 17, 29, 55, 56 with a red Powerball of 3.

No one took home the grand prize but one Powerball ticket worth $2 million was sold in New Jersey, the national Powerball website said, while tickets worth $1 million each were sold in Florida, Georgia and Texas.

The odds of winning the Powerball grand prize are 1 in 292,201,338, according to the Powerball website.

The next Powerball drawing is on Monday, Dec. 8, at 7:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.

As of Monday, Dec. 8, the Powerball jackpot was $875 million, with an estimated cash value of $403.6 million.

Powerball tickets are sold in 45 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

“The jackpot is won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball,” according to the Powerball website, which noted that “the Powerball jackpot grows until it is won.”
