Powerball Monday, Dec. 8, $875 million, after 3 Florida tickets win big

Wow! Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, Powerball was at $875 million not long after 3 Florida tickets won $1 million over Thanksgiving weekend, on Dec. 3 and Dec. 6.
Lottery fever is spiking — just in time for the holiday season, and one ticket purchased in Florida got lucky. Then another, and now, there’s another!
As they say in the lottery business, “it could happen to you.”
After no one matched all five numbers plus the Powerball in the Saturday, Dec. 6, Powerball drawing for $820 million, the jackpot jumped by $55 million for Monday, Dec. 8. The one-time lump sum cash option would be $403.6 million. Monday, Dec. 8, Powerball numbers were 8-32-52-56-64 and the Powerball was 23. Power Play was 2x. We’ll see if there’s a winner or another rollover closer to Christmas and Hanukkah.
In case you’re wondering, Saturday, Dec. 6, winning Powerball numbers were 13-14-26-28-44 and the Powerball was 7. Power Play was 2x. Though those numbers did not hit the jackpot, it wasn’t all bad news: A ticket purchased in Florida and two from Georgia and Texas matched 5 for $1 million prizes. Even more lucky was one ticket purchased in New Jersey, which matched 5 plus the Power Play for a $2 million prize.
The local Powerball winner bought their winning ticket from Circle K, 2809 Atlantic Ave., Fernandina Beach, Florida.
For the Powerball lottery drawing on Wednesday, Dec. 3 — with winning numbers 1-14-20-46-51 and the Powerball 26, with Power Play 3x — there were three big winners in that Powerball drawing. A Florida and a California ticket each matched 5 for $1 million prizes. Even luckier, a Kentucky-bought ticket matched 5 plus the Power Play for a $2 million prize.
The local $1 million Powerball ticket was purchased at Town Star, 1305 W. Orange Blossom Trail, Apopka, Florida. It was a quick pick.
And finally, a ticket from the Saturday, Nov. 29, Powerball drawing over the 2025 Thanksgiving holiday weekend matched five numbers to win $1 million. The winning numbers from that quick pick ticket were 19-22-30-32-59 and the Powerball was 1. Power Play was 2. The quick pick ticket was purchased from Thorntons, 425 E. Brandon Blvd., Brandon, Florida.
The current jackpot has since rolled over 37 times after resetting to $20 million on Sept. 8, when a pair of tickets from Fredericksburg, Texas, and St. Louis, Missouri, won the $1.787 billion Powerball drawing on Sept. 6.
Mega Millions had quite a lottery frenzy this holiday season, too, after one ticket from a Georgia Publix matched all five numbers plus the Mega Ball to win a whopping $980 million on Friday, Nov. 14. That Mega Millions jackpot rose on the all-time largest Mega Millions jackpot list and very nearly became the second billion-dollar lottery jackpot for 2025 and the 14th overall in the history of Mega Millions and Powerball.
Tickets start at $2 a piece. Below is what to know about lottery odds, how long to claim the cash option if you bought a ticket in Florida, and what happens to unclaimed prize money, according to the Florida Lottery.
Good luck!
