Within the newer One UI 8.5 leaked firmware, we’ve spotted new code that indicates the My Files app will soon prompt you to clear storage when traveling, to make room for your vacation media.

As the strings suggest, My Files could soon detect when you’re traveling for a vacation. Accordingly, it would suggest ways to clear up storage space on your phone so that you can take plenty of vacation photos and videos.

Eagle-eyed readers would note that the second and third strings are the same. We predict that Samsung will likely modify the third string to be more descriptive and detailed.
The strings do not explicitly state it, but there’s a good chance that the feature would require the My Files app (or a corresponding system service) to track your device’s location and detect when you’re not in your usual city/state/country, to surface this suggestion.
Since the feature is not mentioned in the leaked One UI 8.5 changelog, it remains to be seen if it will be included in the next update. We’ll keep you updated when we learn more.
⚠️ An APK teardown helps predict features that may arrive on a service in the future based on work-in-progress code. However, it is possible that such predicted features may not make it to a public release.
