Belfast International Airport Unveils £100 Million Investment Plans for New Food and Beverage Experiences

Belfast International Airport, a key player in the VINCI Airports network, has announced exciting new developments aimed at enhancing the food and beverage experience for travelers as part of a comprehensive five-year investment plan totaling £100 million (€114 million).

The recent opening of the coffee bar Soul & Grain marks the beginning of this initiative, in collaboration with renowned food travel company SSP Group. Kari Daniels, CEO of SSP UK & Ireland, expressed enthusiasm regarding this partnership, highlighting their long-standing relationship with the airport spanning over twenty years. “We’re excited to be growing our footprint together once again at such a pivotal moment in the airport’s history,” she stated, emphasizing the commitment to showcase the best of Northern Ireland’s offerings for residents and visitors alike.

Among the ambitious projects in the pipeline is a brand-new 300-cover premium bar-and-kitchen concept designed to elevate the dining experience. Established favorites like Starbucks and Burger King will continue to operate, supplemented by a new casual-dining restaurant, aimed at families and groups seeking a relaxed atmosphere. Additionally, the Lagan Bar is set to undergo renovations to expand its seating capacity, catering to the increasing number of travelers.

This series of upgrades is designed to complement previous enhancements that included a newly constructed security hall, an improved duty-free shopping area, an updated arrivals zone, and an enhanced forecourt. Dan Owens, chief executive of Belfast International Airport, highlighted the intention behind these developments: “Northern Ireland is famous the world over for its hospitality and fantastic produce, and we want to reflect that in the airport through this next phase of investment.”
