Body of 24-year-old man found on the M4

The body of a 24-year-old man was found on a slip road after police received reports of the man in distress on an M4 footbridge nearby. The motorway was closed near Bridgend on Saturday, December 6 as emergency services attended the scene with ambulance unsuccessfully attempting resuscitation.

South Wales Police received reports of a man in distress on the M4 footbridge near Junction 36 shortly before 9:30pm on Saturday. Upon officers arrival the body of the 24-year-old was located on the slip road nearby.

The man has been identified as a 24-year-old man from Litchard, Bridgend with his family confirming his identity. The family are receiving support.

A spokesperson from South Wales Police said: “Officers were called to the M4 footbridge near Junction 36 shortly before 9:30pm on Saturday December 6 following a report of a man in distress.

“The body of a man was located on the slip road nearby upon emergency services arrival. Ambulance unsuccessfully attempted resuscitation. The motorway was briefly closed in both directions to allow for police and CSI attendance. “The man has been identified as a 24-year-old man from Litchard, Bridgend. His family are aware and have confirmed ID, and are being supported.”
