Strictly’s La Voix has confessed she concealed her injury because she feared it would signal the end of her stint on the BBC dancefloor extravaganza.
The RuPaul’s Drag Race UK favourite participated in the current series but was forced to withdraw before Blackpool last month following a foot injury. She previously expressed being “devastated” about her early departure from the programme.
During her appearance on ITV’s Loose Women on Wednesday (December 3), she provided an update, disclosing that she has “a fractured metatarsal”. She also revealed how she had been in pain but “didn’t want to tell anyone” about her condition, reports Wales Online.
La Voix, who was partnered with professional dancer Aljaz Skorjanec on Strictly, explained: “I’ve basically got a… I haven’t really told anyone what I’ve done. It’s all been very secretive… I have got a fractured metatarsal.”

She added: “I did two weeks on the show, not knowing I’d broken my foot. I didn’t want to tell anyone. I was in so much pain, but I knew that it might be the end of the line. So I thought, maybe it’s muscular, maybe I’d get over it.
“And it didn’t. And then, of course, we did the Couple’s Choice. I had to wear the flat shoes.
“We had a comment before from Shirley (Ballas) saying, ‘You’re flat-footed.’ I thought, ‘Well, yes, you do it with a broken foot, Shirley.’ But I couldn’t say anything. Do you know what I mean?”
When questioned about whether she was keeping it under wraps, La Voix confirmed: “Well, I was.”

La Voix speculated that her foot injury might have occurred during the Foxtrot week, which she described as “quite an easy week”.
“I think it’s just the repetitive stress, the stress fracture,” she elaborated. “Apparently, Shirley says it’s very common in the dancing world, apparently, to get those injuries.”
Presenter Coleen Nolan said her early exit must have been “heartbreaking” and La Voix replied: “It was.”
“I bawled my eyes out in that rehearsal room when I realised I was not going to be able to carry on,” she added.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One and Loose Women is on ITV.
