Man Charged With Two Counts of Attempted Murder After Violent Scene on Anspatch Street

A man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after an incident in the west end of St. John’s Monday evening. Shortly before 7pm last night, RNC responded to Anspatch Street in the west end of St. John’s after receiving a report of a man banging on doors and screaming. Upon arrival, officers found two females with serious injuries, one of whom is in critical condition. While investigating, police received a report of a man on the same street being assaulted by what is believed to be the same suspect. In short order, RNC arrested a 32-year old man and charged him with two counts of Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Assault Causing Bodily Harm, as well as three counts of Assault With a Weapon, and Uttering Threats. The matter is still under investigation, and the accused will appear in court this morning.
