Snowfall begins in parts of Eastern Carolina

AHOSKIE, N.C. (WITN) – Some spots across the east are starting to see snow Monday afternoon.
Rain changed to snow in Ahoskie and other areas of Hertford County around 3 p.m. as winter weather moved across the region.
Elizabeth City and other Pasquotank County communities are also seeing some early afternoon snow.
In Bertie County, a dusting of snow could be seen over the Pocosin Mini Christmas Wonderland.

The WITN First Alert Weather team has been keeping an eye on the wintry weather.
Accumulation of one to two inches snowfall is expected north of 264 to the North Carolina/Virginia state line.
The First Alert Weather team’s warning everyone to watch for refreezing into Tuesday morning, especially north of Highway 64. Bridges and overpasses will be of the greatest concern for re-freeze.
