El Berkaoui Clarifies: “My Goal Celebration Has Nothing to Do with the Saudi Fans Whom I Love and Respect”

The Moroccan reserve national team secured the top spot in their group and qualified for the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup, following their victory over the Saudi national team in a match characterized by competitiveness and enthusiasm.
After the final whistle, Moroccan striker Karim El Berkaoui was one of the most prominent names that caught attention, both for his performance on the field and his reaction after scoring a goal.
Following the match, El Berkaoui provided clarifications regarding the celebration that sparked some controversy, emphasizing his great respect for the Saudi fans whom he got to know closely during his experience in the Saudi League.
El Berkaoui stated: “My celebration has nothing to do with the Saudi fans. I love them and hold them in high regard. I played for five years in the Saudi League and I miss playing there again, and I hold the Saudi fans in high esteem.”
