India vs South Africa LIVE Score 1st T20 at Cuttack: Axar cleans up Markram to give IND 3rd wicket

IND vs SA T20 LIVE Score (India national cricket team vs South Africa national cricket team scorecard): Arshdeep Singh gets rid of Quinton de Kock (0) and Tristan Stubbs (14) in successive overs before Axar Patel cleans up Aiden Markram (14).

India vs South Africa T20 LIVE Score: The preparation for the T20 World Cup 2026 at home resumes at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Tuesday (9 December) as India take on South Africa
in the first match of the five-game series. India are in great form, having defeated the Proteas 2-1 in ODIs.

The ODI series win helped reduce the pain of a 2-0 Test series loss and a T20 series would provide more relief to Indian fans, but for that, a strong start in Cuttack is needed.

Gill returns but Samson may miss out

South Africa are also a solid T20 side, reaching the final of the last World Cup in 2024, which they lost to India. But Aiden Markram and Co would hope to turn the tables on India in their own backyard.

India will have Shubman Gill back for the T20Is after missing the ODIs. He has been given all-clear by the BCCI CoE to play in the first T20, which means Snaju Samson will either bat lower down the order or Jitsh Sharma will play as finisher.

We can also see a direct fight between Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav, with the former most likely to win. India could include two pacers at Cuttack. While Jasprit Bumrah is a certainty, the second pacer could be Arshdeep Singh or Harshit Rana.

Weather-wise wise the coast is clear in Cuttack, but there will be a lot of dew and the team winning the toss may like to bowl first.

The India vs South Africa 1st T20 will start at 7 PM IST and it will be live-streamed on the JioHoststar app and website.
