Comment: Cork GAA doing a lot right – it’s a story worth telling properly

There are no awards for best annual report by a county GAA secretary. If there were, it would have been retired anyway such was the quality of Dublin’s former head honcho John Costello’s end-of-year musings.
Between congresses and pre-county conventions, Costello would keep his counsel but in those double-spaced pages of his, he gave his two cents on a variety of topics. So comprehensive, it was a review more in keeping with a director general’s report at the same time defending his constituency (and he had to do plenty of that when Dublin football was in its pomp).
