Current backlogs in the system are causing massive delays in diagnosis of disability

Children’s Minister Norma Foley has announced changes to the Assessment of Need (AON) process in hopes of speeding it up and tackling the immense backlog.
The announcement did not come with a concrete timeline for how long it will take for all AONs to be completed within the six months required by law.
