Winds will shift throughout the day, moving from northwest to northeasterly before settling into a southeast to southwesterly pattern by evening.
Tuesday sees temperatures inch slightly higher, reaching 29 degrees under mostly sunny skies. While midweek brings a cooler feel, Wednesday’s maximum will still reach 30 degrees, though it comes with more cloud cover and a slightly increased chance of rain. Any showers are expected to remain light and isolated.
Warmer conditions return for the back half of the week. Thursday will reach 33 degrees with partly cloudy skies, while Friday pushes even higher to 36 degrees as mostly sunny conditions prevail. Heading into the weekend, Adelaide residents can expect a mix of clearing cloud on Saturday with a top of 28 degrees, followed by a cooler, partly cloudy Sunday reaching 25 degrees.
Beyond the metro area, the Bureau has issued a severe heatwave warning for the North West Pastoral District, in place until Wednesday. Residents in affected areas are urged to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged periods outdoors, and keep an eye on vulnerable community members as temperatures climb.
Statewide, weather patterns remain dynamic as a weak cold front moves across the southeast, while a strengthening high-pressure system begins to settle over South Australia. In the northwest, isolated thunderstorms are expected from Tuesday afternoon, extending toward the far northwest later in the week. Despite thunderstorm activity, widespread rainfall is not expected, with only light, patchy falls anticipated.
