Ripple jumps up Netflix chart after quiet release Lionsgate TV
There’s a new drama making a splash on Netflix this Christmas season. Launching with barely a ripple, Ripple (see what we did there) hit the streaming service last week to little hype and fanfare.
But the drama has quietly moved up Netflix’s UK chart, becoming the eighth most-watched title on the platform.
The series stars Frankie Faison (The Wire), Julia Chan (Saving Hope), and Ian Harding (Pretty Little Liars). It follows four New York City strangers whose lives “unexpectedly intertwine in ways that change them forever”.
Those who have already tuned into Ripple have been enthralled by the series, which has garnered positive audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and favourable comparisons to This Is Us.
One viewer wrote: “This is the type of series that fills a void television has had for a long time. Not since This Is Us have I felt this way about a series. Love these characters and I binged all 8 episodes. It’s terrific, a must see!”

Another added: “The characters, the stories, the backdrop, the heartache, the laughs….all make to make for a perfect series. Much like This is Us, this series intertwines the lives of strangers in NYC who become family. Like a good book, I hated for it to end. Praying for Season 2!”

Speaking to What’sOnNetflix, the show’s creator Michele Giannusa revealed that she has a lot more stories to tell and even knows exactly how she wants Ripple to end.

“When the show started in development, I had five seasons in my pocket. I’ve always had five seasons in my pocket,” Giannusa said.
“I won’t tell you, but I know exactly what the very last shot of the last episode looks like. I really, really hope we can keep telling these stories.”
Ripple is available to stream now on Netflix worldwide.
