Hulu Renews Chad Powers for Second Season

Hulu has officially renewed its sports comedy series Chad Powers for a second season, much to the delight of its fans. The show, which has garnered attention for its quirky premise—including a protagonist who drives a Cybertruck—promises to continue the story of Russ Holliday, played by Glen Powell, and his transformations into the eccentric Chad Powers.
The series concluded its first season, which consisted of six episodes released between September and October, leaving viewers with a cliffhanger regarding Holliday’s journey and his questionable tactics to revive his college football career. The renewal will allow the show to resolve this storyline, providing a much-anticipated follow-up for fans.
At the helm of the series is Michael Waldron, who co-created the show with Powell. The narrative follows Holliday as he attempts to improve his character through outrageous antics, including the use of prosthetics to morph into the soft-spoken Powers. Although inspired by an Eli Manning TV stunt, Chad Powers has received mixed reviews from critics. Some have labeled it as lacking the humor necessary to support its edgy premise, with remarks suggesting it fails to deliver on the comedic front.
Despite the polarized critical reception, Hulu seems committed to watching the show thrive, likely due to its unique flair and the potential appeal of its underlying themes. The cast also includes Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Frankie Rodriguez, and Steve Zahn, contributing to the ensemble’s dynamic chemistry.
