Troubled comedian Andy Dick has reportedly been discovered unresponsive on a street in Hollywood after an apparent overdose.
Tragic pictures published by TMZ show Dick slumped over while sitting on stairs outside of a building in the middle of the day.
The 59-year-old comedian was pitched forward, and his glasses were resting on the ground as onlookers tried to revive Dick.
One witness told TMZ that a member of the public was heard shouting for the drug Narcan, which is a medication used to save the life of someone who has overdosed due to the effects of opioids.
News.com.au has reached out to Dick’s representatives for comment but has not yet heard back.
“Poor guy, seems like he’s been struggling with mental health and addiction for years,” one supporter said on Twitter.
Another added: “His family has tried to help him, but he keeps self-destructing.”
Dick’s personal troubles stretch all the way back to 1999, when he drove into a post in Hollywood and was charged with cocaine possession.
At the time, he also completed an 18-month recovery program.
In 2004, he was arrested for indecent exposure at a McDonald’s, and in 2008, he was charged with drug possession and sexual battery after allegedly exposing a teenage girl’s breasts.
He pleaded guilty and received probation.
Things have worsened for the star in more recent years.
In 2018, he faced misdemeanour sexual battery charges for allegedly groping a woman and, later, an Uber driver. Four years later he was convicted of sexual battery, sentenced to 90 days in jail, and ordered to register as a sex offender, attend Alcoholics Anonymous, and receive mental health counselling.
In May 2022, Dick was arrested again – this time for felony sexual battery of a man in Orange County, and in January 2023, he was arrested for public intoxication and failing to register as a sex offender.
