Trillium Lakelands District School Board Appoints Kim Horrigan as Executive Officer of Facility and Transportation Services

The Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) has announced the appointment of Kim Horrigan as the new executive officer overseeing Facility Services, Transportation Services, and Capital Innovation. This new position was established following a restructuring of the responsibilities previously held by the superintendent of Business Services.

Horrigan brings over two decades of experience in public administration, with a decade dedicated to school board leadership. Her expertise includes managing complex and substantial departmental budgets as well as supervising all facets of facility services and capital projects. Prior to her appointment at TLDSB, she served as the senior manager and controller for the Facility Services Department at Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.

Since officially taking on the role in September, Horrigan has expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome she received from the TLDSB community. “I am committed to bringing community connections, local knowledge, experience, and my dedication to well-being to this role,” she stated. Horrigan is eager to continue the positive initiatives of TLDSB, which is recognized for its supportive environment for students and their families.

In her capacity as executive officer, Horrigan will lead the Facility Services and Transportation Services departments. Her responsibilities will also include overseeing business continuity, crisis management, capital planning and projects, and risk management for the Board.

Wes Hahn, the director of education, praised Horrigan’s extensive executive experience, stating, “Kim brings a wealth of senior executive experience and knowledge to contribute to the leadership of TLDSB. I am confident that her commitment to operational efficiency will directly support the strategic direction of the system.”

This leadership change marks a significant step in the Board’s ongoing mission to enhance the quality of education and support services provided to its students and their families.
