Kate Winslet reveals Eminem’s bizarre NSFW request when they were on ‘SNL’ together

She didn’t want to lose herself.
During a recent appearance on “The Graham Norton Show,” Kate Winslet, 50, revealed a strange encounter she had with Eminem, 53, back in 2004.
“This is a story I’ve never, never told,” the “Titanic” actress began, explaining that she hosted “Saturday Night Live” when Eminem was the musical guest for the Oct. 30 episode that year.
“Eminem asked me to shave his bottom.”
The bizarre request happened one week after Ashlee Simpson’s infamous lip-syncing blunder on the NBC variety show.

After Norton and the crowd laughed, Norton asked, “Was it a hand-held razor?”
The Oscar-winning actress insisted, “Well, he did!”
Winslet recalled, “He said, ‘Will you shave my butt?’ and I said, ‘I’m sorry, I don’t do personal grooming.’ Like what? I’m not gonna go with a Bic and get your crack love. Honestly!”
Winslet hasn’t returned to host “SNL” in the 20 years since that incident.

“I’ve never told that story before, ever in my life in public. There you go!” she told the crowd.
Winslet said she had been promoting the 2004 Johnny Depp movie “Finding Neverland” at the time, and only had 24 hours to prepare for “SNL.”
The show also had her “sing and tap dance” just one week after Simpson’s disaster, in which the former pop star was caught lip-syncing on live TV.

Simpson, 41, reflected on the fiasco in a February 2024 interview on the “Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson & Olivia Allen” podcast.
According to Simpson, she was scheduled to appear on the variety show as a musical guest but realized she could not perform because she had “two nodules beating against each other,” causing her to lose her voice.
Simpson said she told the show’s execs what was happening but was pressured by the higher-ups to sing her hit song “Pieces of Me” using a prerecorded track.
“I feel like it was a humbling moment for me,” she said.
