Zendaya and Robert Pattinson have a bad case of the wedding jitters in the teaser trailer for the forthcoming A24 feature The Drama.
The studio releases writer-director Kristoffer Borgli’s movie in theaters April 3, 2026. Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim and Hailey Gates round out the cast.
The Drama centers on a happily engaged couple whose soon-to-arrive nuptials are suddenly in jeopardy due to a stunning revelation.
In the trailer, Emma Harwood (Zendaya) and Charlie Thompson (Pattinson) meet with a professional photographer for their wedding pictures but appear to have trouble expressing genuine happiness.
When the photographer asks Pattinson to name his favorite things about Zendaya, he replies, “She’s beautiful, funny and she has the best laugh.” When Zendaya is the one asked to praise her partner, she says, “I love that he’s caring, understanding and open-minded.” However, the final moments of the footage suggest something is clearly awry.
Borgli (Dream Scenario) helmed the film from his own script. Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen and Tyler Campellone serve as producers.
Zendaya can soon be seen on the forthcoming third season of HBO’s Euphoria and in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which hits theaters next summer. She will also be part of the voice cast of 2026’s Shrek 5. Pattinson was recently seen in this year’s Die My Love and also has a role in The Odyssey.
Borgli’s Dream Scenario hit theaters in November 2023 and garnered a Golden Globe nomination for star Nicolas Cage. The dark comedy also featured Julianne Nicholson, Michael Cera and Tim Meadows.
