Brandon Lowe Traded To The Pittsburgh Pirates

*This is a prediction *
The Pittsburgh Pirates are entering a new era under their new manager in Don Kelly. This 2026 MLB offseason has seen the Pirates be interested in many big splash moves. While nothing has come to fruition yet, it is a turn to even see the Pirates interested in going for the big names this MLB offseason.
One thing is clear, the Pirates know they need help everywhere if they are going to turn things around this upcoming season. One trade they can be looking to make to accomplish this is with the Tampa Bay Rays for Brandon Lowe.

It is clear the Pittsburgh Pirates need an offensive uptick, especially after they ranked last in MLB last season in home runs, had the lowest slugging percentage with .350, OPS with .655, scored the least runs with 561, and least RBIs with 583. To fix this, Brandon Lowe is the ideal trade target to turn things around.
Brandon Lowe is coming off one of his best seasons as he had a slash line of .256/.307/.477 with 31 home runs, and 83 RBIs. Lowe has established himself as a power-hitting infielder, as over his career he has had a .247/.326/.481 slash line with 157 home runs and 446 RBIs.
Brandon Lowe hasn’t been too great defensively, and with being on an expiring contract, it leads to some concerns and reasons the Rays have been linked to trying to trade Lowe. Still, his offensive spark he would provide Pittsburgh would prove to be massive for them as they look to turn things around.
For the Rays, trading Lowe would give them the ability to gain assets, and look to improve their team elsewhere as well for the future.
