(UPDATE) Highway 97 open near Pink Mountain due to ‘vehicle incident’

PINK MOUNTAIN, B.C. — The Alaska Highway is closed north of Fort St. John.
The Alaska Highway road report issued a warning at around 2:30 p.m. on December 8th about a road closure at kilometre 238 of Highway 97, located north of the Pink Mountain area.
DriveBC says the closure is affecting the stretch between Suicide Hill Pullout and Sikanni Chief Road, 74 kilometres north of Wonowon.
It is listed as a ‘vehicle incident,’ but more details are limited at this time.

This comes after drivers were warned of “hazardous driving conditions” on Highway 97 amid heavy snow forecast for the Peace region.
