President Donald Trump Waxes Lyrical About Cristiano Ronaldo

Earlier in November this year, Trump and Ronaldo met one another at the White House. The pair engaged in pleasantries during a dinner hosted in their honor by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Trump also presented the former Real Madrid and Manchester United striker with a gold key to the White House during the event.

Now, Trump has recently provided an update on a phone call between the duo.

Posting on Truth Social, Trump remarked (via GOAL), “Cristiano Ronaldo, the GREAT soccer (football!) player, just called to thank me to thank for his tour this week of the White House and Oval Office. What an incredible guy he is, not only as an athlete, but as a person. You don’t get any better!!!”

Ronaldo, 40, has been in fine form for Al-Nassr this season ahead of next year’s FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He has contributed 11 goals and two assists in just 12 appearances across all competitions for the Saudi Pro League side.

Guti Believes Ronaldo Is Real Madrid’s Greatest Player

Real Madrid icon Guti has suggested that Ronaldo is Los Blancos‘ greatest player of all time as the Portuguese dominated the world during his nine-year stint in Madrid.

“No one will ever surpass Cristiano. He’s a player who has defined an era at Real Madrid and in football because of his consistency,” Guti replied when asked if Kylian Mbappé could one day eclipse the Al-Nassr striker’s achievements at Los Blancos (via GOAL).

Guti, who played for Real Madrid between 1995 and 2010, said, “That’s the most important thing for any player who wants to dethrone Cristiano and (Lionel) Messi, whom I consider to be on the same level. It’s no use having 10 good games and then not showing up when it matters. Those two always delivered. That’s the challenge facing (Kylian) Mbappe, Lamine (Yamal), or anyone else who wants to get close to them.”

During his time at Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018, Ronaldo became the club’s all-time highest goalscorer after finding the back of the net 450 times in 438 total matches.
