Uber launches convenient but limited new ski service in Vancouver

Ski season is here, and Uber has launched an interesting — albeit limited — new feature that Vancouver has access to that’ll benefit you and “up to” one additional person.

The feature is called “Uber Ski,” with the tagline, “Your reserved ride to the slopes this winter season.”

Uber is only launching the feature in some Canadian markets, including Vancouver.

How it works is that in the Uber app, there will be a special section called Uber Ski.

Open your app and tap the Uber Ski tile. You’ll have the option to reserve an UberXL for up to two guests with gear. You can reserve up to 90 days in advance,” Uber said in its media release.

As part of Uber Reserve, Uber Ski is a seasonal product offering that can be reserved up to 90 days in advance, giving you peace of mind that your reliable ride is locked in so you can focus on your turns,” it adds.

In Canada, the feature is launching in Edmonton, Gatineau, Kelowna, London, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, and Vancouver. Around the world, the feature is available in the U.S., Switzerland, and France.
