Confirmed Chelsea line up vs Roma | News | Official Site

Sonia Bompastor has made six changes to her Chelsea side as we take on Roma in the Women’s Champions League at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues return to action in the UWCL, having suffered our first Women’s Super League defeat in the Sonia Bompastor era against Everton on Sunday.

The head coach has now refreshed her side, and there is a new-look backline to face Roma, with skipper Millie Bright as well as Veerle Buurman and Niamh Charles all returning to the starting XI.

Wieke Kaptein is also back in the line-up after a knock suffered during the international break kept her to a substitute role against the Toffees.

In attack, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd is selected to start once more, while Sam Kerr makes only her second start for the Blues since returning from her long layoff in September.

Chelsea: Peng, Bronze, Bright (c), Buurman, Charles, Walsh, Kaptein, Macario, Rytting Kaneryd, Kerr, Baltimore

Substitutes: Spencer, Carpenter, Nusken, Reiten, Thompson, Girma, Jean-Francois, Beever-Jones, Hamano, Potter, Sarwie
