Player given ‘a clear message’ as Wolves problem resurfaces – Still not happy after getting what he wanted

There’s simply no pleasing Fábio Silva. The striker is unhappy again, just months after finally getting out of Wolverhampton Wanderers and joining Borussia Dortmund.

Why? Because he’s not playing enough. That’s according to SportBILD, who say ‘a certain dissatisfaction’ has crept in for the striker.

He has his sights on playing for Portugal at the World Cup next summer. He left Wolves for Dortmund in the summer with that dream in mind.

But Portugal manager Roberto Martínez has told him if that is to happen, he needs to play regularly. And while Silva’s form and appearances have been trending upwards of late, it’s not enough. He’s not happy being a substitute in the long term.

That’s why his management are already exploring the market to try and secure a loan for the second half of the season. That’s despite him leaving Wolves in the summer after getting tired of repeated loan moves around Europe.

Unlike Wolves, though, Dortmund aren’t budging. Any attempt to leave will be a ‘wasted effort’. In fact, their bosses have already informed Silva’s agents that a departure is completely out of the question.

They’ve sent ‘a clear message’ that they expect Silva to fight and provide consistently top performances. It seems they’re completely uninterested in giving him or his agents what they want in January.
