Erling Haaland makes brand new West Ham admission after what he saw in December

Manchester City star Erling Haaland has made an admission about West Ham United after what he saw in the Premier League.

The City striker will be facing West Ham on 20 December at the Etihad Stadium in the English top flight.

Nuno Espirito Santo will have to navigate the Aston Villa fixture before facing a tricky battle against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Erling Haaland makes Manchester United vs West Ham United admission

Haaland is someone who loves football and that appears to be on his mind when he’s not training or playing as well.

The Norwegian is having yet another amazing season and he reached 100 goals in the Premier League – something West Ham fans will not be pleased about.

One thing they will like is that the City striker tuned in to their game against Manchester United last Thursday.

It looked like the Red Devils were winning the game, but Soungoutou Magassa scored a late equaliser to secure a point for the hosts.

Haaland admits that he watched City’s arch rivals dropping points to Nuno’s side, which was not something his girlfriend wanted to do.

He said on Rest Is Football: “I’m a football fan, so I watch any match. My girlfriend and I were having dinner, and I checked to see if there were any games on. Manchester United vs. West Ham — we turned it on.

“My girlfriend said, ‘I’m so tired of football. We watch it all the time.’ I replied, ‘Yes, that’s why we’re sitting here.’

“So, of course, we watched it.”

Where do you think West Ham would be right now if they had hired Ruben Amorim in 2024?

“Obviously my trip was a mistake. The timing was completely wrong. It didn’t seem right at the time.

“It was wrong, especially when I’m so demanding with my players and always the first to say that each one’s actions can overpower the team. I have already removed players from the squad for much less.

“It was my mistake, I have to accept it and live with it.”

What did West Ham learn from their performance at Old Trafford?

The Hammers went into the game at Old Trafford as the underdogs, and in many ways, it was a free hit.

As long as the Red Devils were one goal up, West Ham had a chance to get back into the game.

That is probably what Nuno will have been telling his players, and it most certainly paid off.

As the Irons are in a relegation battle, they will have learnt that working hard until the end of the game can yield results.

It surely built confidence as they played pretty well against Brighton after that and were unlucky not to win that.
