Sources told how the couple had opted to keep Friday’s celebration “very low key” before attending a friend’s much larger wedding the following day — their first public outing as husband and wife.

A friend added: “Their wedding was perfect, exactly what they wanted. They chose a small venue close to their home, and just invited about ten of their friends and relatives to be there with them.

“It was very intimate and everyone who attended is very special in their lives.”

They went on: “They’ve been through a huge amount in recent months, with Davina’s health, and it just felt right to formalise their marriage. They didn’t see the point in waiting.

“The next day they just carried on with life as normal, and as coincidence would have it they were guests at another friend’s wedding day.

“So they went as a married couple for the first time and happily showed off her wedding ring. It was the perfect weekend.”

Last month The Sun revealed Masked Singer judge Davina, 58, had found a breast lump after seeing a sticker for Lorraine Kelly’s Change + Check campaign.

In November last year she had asked fans to pray for her ahead of a six-hour brain op.

And this September we told how the twice-wed TV favourite wanted to wed Michael, 52, despite earlier vows not to do so.

The couple have been dating since late 2018, having first met in the early 2000s on the set of Big Brother. Michael appears regularly on programmes including The One Show and This Morning.

They grew close after Davina’s second marriage broke down in 2017. She and Matthew Robertson were married for 17 years and have three children — Holly, Tilly and Chester.

She was previously married to shop worker Andrew Leggett, but the whirlwind romance and subsequent marriage lasted less than a year.

Davina and Michael have been living together since 2023 when Michael moved into her £3.5million home near Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

In May Davina had played down talk of marriage plans, but revealed major surgery to remove a large and potentially life-threatening colloid cyst from her brain had brought the couple closer together than ever.

She praised Michael for his unwavering support during her treatment and described him as “everything”.

They got quietly engaged before celebrating at the Burning Man festival in Nevada, US.

Insiders say her health battles were a major factor in their decision to press on with marriage plans as soon as possible.

One added: “Michael has been so strong and so supportive for Davina. They already had a lovely relationship, and before that a great friendship for many years, but he really stepped up.”

The insider went on: “It cemented everything she already knew — and she wants to spend the rest of her life with him.”

Brave Davina has spoken out several times about her health in a bid to raise awareness and encourage others to seek treatment.

In the months after successful surgery on a benign brain tumour, she said of Michael: “I think it has been the most testing time for him, ever, to see me, who is normally ‘Mrs-In-Control-of-Everything’.

“I mean, beforehand, the fear and everything brought us really, really, really close together.

“But I think the first month for him in hospital was so painful and difficult and hard.”

She added: “The amazing thing about him as a man, is that he’s everything.

“He’s strong, he’s soft, he’s funny, he’s serious, he’s really smart and super silly.” They later made a joint post on social media, thanking their friends and family for their support.

Only last month she spoke about fresh concerns after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Telly favourite Davina had a lump removed and will undergo five days of radiotherapy treatment “as an insurance policy” next month.

Davina said she had been reminded to check her breasts by a campaign on ITV’s Lorraine Kelly show.

And the multi award-winning host revealed details of her treatment in the hope others would be inspired to seek help in similar circumstances. She said: “It was very, very small, so I got it very, very early which is incredibly lucky.

“But I am so relieved to have had it removed and to know that it has not spread.

“I’m talking about this because I think it might help someone. And this is what I always do.”

Davina made it big after a turbulent youth which included hard-drug addiction. In her early 20s she had a brief relationship with family friend Eric Clapton who helped her get sober.

In the mid-1990s she fronted late- night quiz shows and appeared on MTV and other music programmes. Her big break came on cult Channel 4 dating show Streetmate which she presented from 1998 to 2001.

She was then selected to host reality smash Big Brother — earning a reported £85,000 per episode at the height of the show’s success.

She has since enjoyed many on-screen successes including quiz show The Million Pound Drop, ITV dating show My Mum, Your Dad and ancestry series Long Lost Family.
