Anušić: Leopards are the best tanks in the world, the readiness of the Armed Forces will be at a new level
The Minister referred to tomorrow’s signing of the contract for the procurement of the most modern German Leopard tanks, which he said are the best tanks in the world, currently equipped with the most modern systems, both offensive and defensive. Now the readiness of the Armed Forces will be on a completely different, better level, Anušić emphasized.
These are the best tanks in the world, which are currently equipped with the most modern systems, both offensive and defensive when defending themselves, said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Ivan Anušić from Berlin for the central news program of Croatian Television.

He said that the Leopards would be at the disposal of the armed forces of the Republic of Croatia. Until now, we have been using Eastern technology when it comes to tanks, he reminded, emphasizing that the readiness of the Armed Forces would be at a completely different, better level.
He also addressed critics who point out that the Leopard tanks did not perform well on the Ukrainian battlefield, explaining that these are not the same tanks and warning that this is not a small purchase, but serious matters. We are talking about the security of the Republic of Croatia, about equipping the Armed Forces. These tanks have never been in Ukraine, Anušić explained.
He added that one drone cannot destroy a Leopard, because only that tank has protection called Trophy. At this point, both the drones and the anti-tank missiles that are fired can be prevented from doing what they are meant to do, which is to destroy that tank, he explained, concluding that that tank is definitely the best tank in the world and we should be proud of that.

Modernization of the navy: The acquisition of two corvettes next year
With the new acquisition, Croatia has secured the Croatian sky, we are also securing the Croatian mainland, and the Croatian sea is next in line. When asked who we will procure ships from, Minister Anušić said that the bids are currently being evaluated.
We will see who meets our conditions and needs, he said and announced that a decision will be made next year from whom we will purchase ships. It is about two corvettes, revealed Anušić.
We want Croatian companies to be involved in projects
A strong economic delegation is coming to Berlin, including some companies from our defense industry. He also reminded that an economic forum was held in Paris, and the same will be held in Berlin. He added that he wants our companies to be involved in the production processes.

These are the goals and that is why our companies are here, he said. Traditional economic cooperation with Germany already exists, and with France it is now being opened, he continued, emphasizing that Croatian companies are involved with them in projects, not only in defense and security, but also in all other possible projects that the two countries can develop.
