OKLAHOMA CITY – Phoenix Suns guard Grayson Allen was ejected in third quarter of the Suns’ NBA Cup quarterfinal game Wednesday night, Dec. 10, against the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center.
Allen was called for a foul with 5:18 left in the third as Thunder center Chet Holmgren went down after a collision. Allen extended his arms on contact.
In reaction, Thunder forward Jalen Williams approached Allen and the two had to be separated.
After review, lead official James Williams announced there was “impact, windup and follow through” from Allen that led to the upgrade to flagrant 2 and ejection.
Allen finished the game with just 10 points on 3-of-9 shooting in 22 minutes.
Phoenix trailed, 110-72, after three quarters.
