What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: I’ll play both single-entry and 20-max contests. Game stacks are inherently more appealing on such small slates. The Magic are popping as excellent sources of value with Franz Wagner out. As a result, I’m interested in making a rule that’ll force at least one Miami piece in lineups containing 3–4 Orlando players. I’ll do something similar for the NYK/TOR game, especially considering more cheap value will emerge if Karl-Anthony Towns and/or Immanuel Quickley are out.

headChopper: I prefer small fields with limited entries on a slate this size. There’s definitely a risk of duplication, and I think the best way to get different is to set restrictions in our NBA DFS Optimizer (LineupHQ) that leave around $1,000 — or slightly more — on the table. It’s not a winning strategy most nights in the NBA, but with only 2 games, I can make an exception. It never feels comfortable to build an NBA lineup and leave that much salary, which is exactly why most people won’t do it. That feels better to me than forcing in players who project very poorly just for the sake of being different.

ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments — With just 2 games on this slate, and both featuring close spreads, it’s a great slate to game-stack. While the MIA/ORL game is more appealing, the NYK/TOR game is drawing much less projected ownership. I particularly like the idea of stacking NYK/TOR and hoping it’s the game that stays close.

Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
