A man has been charged with the brutal murder of his Miss Switzerland finalist wife, allegedly strangling her before cutting her up and putting her body parts in a blender.

The 41-year-old man has been named in local media by the pseudonym of Thomas due to Swiss privacy laws. He is accused of decapitating his wife Kristina Joksimovic after strangling her. An autopsy report also stated that Joksimovic’s womb had been ‘carefully removed’ – the only organ to have been cut out of her torso.

The report said Kristina’s neck showed a ‘reddish throttle mark’, indicating strangulation as the cause of death. Her body showed signs of blunt force trauma suffered prior to her death, including cuts on her cheek, and under her eyebrow and nose, as well as bruises on her right lower leg, foot, shoulder blades and on the back of her head.

Some of her hair had also been ripped out, while Thomas allegedly broke her hip joints out of their sockets before removing arm and leg bones from their sockets and going to dismember the rest of her body. The report concluded that Kristina’s body was horrifically dismembered in the couple’s laundry room, with a jigsaw, knife, and garden shears.

It said some of her body parts were forced into a powerful industrial blender, in which Thomas allegedly ‘pureed’ them, as well as dissolving some in a chemical solution.

Kristina’s body was found on February 13 last year in Binningen, near Basel, at the home the couple are said to have shared with their two young children. Thomas was arrested the next day.

He has now been charged following the conclusion of an investigation by the Basel-Landschaft Public Prosecutor’s Office, reports the Daily Mail. A trial date is yet to be set.

Kristina, 38, had won the Miss Northwest Switzerland pageant in 2003 and went on to be a finalist in the 2008 Miss Switzerland competition. She would go on to train Miss Switzerland candidates to follow in her footsteps and also formed a coaching and consulting agency for aspiring models.

But she met a grisly end when her husband admitted killing her, he claimed, in “self-defence”. He said she came at him with a knife – however, the medical-forensic report contradicted his claim. According to local reports, he allegedly confessed to dismembering the ex-model ‘”in a panic”.
