LoL: “I want to stay with T1 for a long time,” Oner after a KeSPA Cup match

Oner also expressed his desire to represent South Korea at the Asian Games

In an interview with OSEN on December 7, T1 jungler Moon “Oner” Hyeon-joon reflected on his ambition to become a franchise player for the organization and remain there long-term. He also discussed the team’s relentless schedule, his developing synergy with newcomer Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan, and his desire to represent South Korea at the upcoming Asian Games.

T1 recently took part in the Red Bull League of Its Own event in Munich, then traveled to Saudi Arabia for sponsor commitments before returning to South Korea for the KeSPA Cup. It’s a packed schedule on top of an already demanding year. “I haven’t even finished adjusting to the jet lag yet, so I was a bit nervous,” Oner admitted when speaking about their KeSPA Cup opener.

Big Ambitions for the Tiger

In the interview, Oner also reiterated his desire to spend his entire career with T1 — the club he has represented since 2020 — and to eventually become its franchise player. At just 22 years old, Oner is already a three-time World Champion (2023, 2024, and 2025) and an LCK champion in Spring 2022.

Of course, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok is, and will forever remain, the face of T1 and of the game as a whole. But among the new generation of miracles developed by T1, Oner is the lone remaining member, with Choi “Zeus” Woo-je and Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong having both departed for Hanwha Life Esports.

The Asian Games in sight

Of course I want to take part. Representing our country with the national emblem on my chest would be a tremendous honor.” Oner also spoke about the Asian Games, which will take place in Japan in September, and expressed his disappointment at not having competed in the previous edition, as it was Seo “Kanavi” Jin-hyeok who represented South Korea.

As a reminder, winning a gold medal at the Asian Games not only brings the honor of making one’s country shine, but also grants exemption from mandatory military service for South Korean men. In the previous edition, Zeus, Kanavi, Faker, Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk, and Ryu “Keria” Min-seok took part in the tournament.
