Updating: Winter closures mount during Tuesday snowfall

ITHACA, N.Y. — With snow falling throughout Tompkins County, plenty of schools and some organizations are changing their schedules to navigate the precipitation.
Forecasts currently project snow to last until mid-afternoon Tuesday, at which point it will likely change over to rain. The winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Tuesday. The storm is projected to bring between 3-6 inches of snow.
There has been no travel advisory issued, though roads are reportedly difficult to navigate as of late Tuesday morning. Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) has not announced any specific route changes, but riders are encouraged to check the bus tracker to make sure.
Students and parents certainly already know that nearly all schools in the county are closed for the day, and most learning or education organizations are either closed or opening late. The Tompkins County Public Library initially announced it would open at noon, but will now remain closed for the day. The Sciencenter is currently slated to open at noon.
Loaves and Fishes of Tompkins County has announced that their dinner service will be canceled for Tuesday, Dec. 2. The organization will be reopened for Wednesday lunch service from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Additionally, FoodNet Meals on Wheels deliveries will not happen today and the organization is closed. Executive Director Aly Evans asked recipients to utilize their Blizzard Bag for meals Tuesday.
The City of Ithaca has not put odd/even parking into effect as of late Tuesday morning.
