Raleigh ‘Jeopardy!’ winner charged with secret peeping

A former “Jeopardy!” champion from Raleigh is accused of secret peeping.

Philip Joseph “Joey” DeSena, 43, is charged with two felony counts of secret peeping for putting a camera in a bathroom and a victim’s bedroom.

The charges claim the incident happened on Oct. 10, according to the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office.

DeSena was arrested on Dec. 1 and released a few days later after posting a $5,000 bond. He was required to provide fingerprints and a DNA sample. In a court order with the conditions of DeSena’s release on bond, it was noted that DeSena had turned himself into authorities.

DeSena’s next court date was scheduled for Wednesday.

DeSena appeared on the game show in November 2024 and won more than $40,000. In January of this year, he competed in the Champions Wildcard game. He left with $10,000.
