WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – A holiday movie filmed in the Cape Fear Region was released on Amazon Prime on Wednesday, Dec.10.
“Merv” is a romantic comedy starring Zooey Deschanel and Charlie Cox. The movie tells the story of a recently separated couple who take their shared dog on a holiday trip, according to IMDb.
Filming locations included Kure Beach, Carolina Beach and Wilmington.
According to the City of Wilmington, “Merv” joins a long list of holiday movies filmed in the Cape Fear region, including:

- Christmas in Conway (2013)
- USS Christmas (2020)
- A Christmas Proposal (2021)
- Christmas in Harmony (2021)
