Quinton de Kock falls short of a century

The Proteas opening batsman Quinton de Kock looked in sensational touch with the bat in the second T20I against India.

Your daily dose of cricket!

De Kock loves playing against India in international cricket, and he registered his best T20I score at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh, since his return to the format.

Since his comeback, De Kock had registered the scores of 1, 23, 7, 0, and 0 heading into the second game against the Men In Blue.

He finally ended the drought of runs and played a stunning knock. The left-handed batter attacked the bowlers from the very first over and continued his attack throughout his stay in the middle.

He looked set for a ton, but Jitesh Sharma denied him the milestone with a brilliant effort. On the first ball of the 16th over, Varun Chakravarthy bowled a flatter delivery to Quinton de Kock outside off-stump.

De Kock got the under edge towards the keeper, and he stepped out of the crease for a moment. However, Jitesh Sharma was exceptionally quick, and he grabbed the ball before quickly dislodging the bails.

Jitesh Sharma was able to catch Quinton de Kock short of the crease, and the Indian team erupted in celebration as “OUT” was displayed on the big screen. De Kock walked back to the hut after scoring 90 runs off 46.
