Mullanpur horror for Bumrah, Arshdeep: India pacers leaks runs, go wicketless

It was a day to forget for India’s pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh as they went wicketless and leaked runs during the second T20I against South Africa on Thursday, December 11. Bumrah conceded 45 runs off his four overs, which was his joint third-worst performance with the ball while Arshdeep didn’t enjoy any home comfort being back in Punjab.

India won the toss and opted to field in Mullanpur, where dew made its presence early on. The first two overs from Arshdeep and Bumrah did ask questions of the batters, but then they started to lose control as the conditions became ideal for batting. Arshdeep had a horror performance in the 11th over as he conceded seven wides, much to the anger of India coach Gautam Gambhir.

India vs South Africa, 2nd T20I Updates

Arshdeep started by conceding eight runs in his first over and it was followed by 12 runs in his second one as Quinton de Kock started to free his arms. His third one cost 18 runs, which included seven wides and he finished off 16 in the 19th over.

Bumrah started with just two runs off his first over but was hit for a six each in his second one by De Kock and Reeza Hendricks as 16 runs came off it. The star pacer started to bowl a lot of full tosses, possibly since the ball was tough to grip as dew took effect.

Bumrah came in for the 18th and 20th overs and conceded 15 and 18 off them as South Africa powered themselves to 213 for four in the first innings.
