India chose to bowl vs South Africa
India have opted to bowl first in the second T20I against South Africa in New Chandigarh, with captain Suryakumar Yadav noting that the outfield already had dew on it when the players were warming up. Conditions are only likelier to get dewier as the evening wears on.
India, as expected, were unchanged. This ground, which makes its men’s international debut, is noted in the IPL for favouring fast bowlers, so it was unlikely India would have brought in their second wristspinner Kuldeep Yadav.
South Africa made three changes, with captain Aiden Markram saying they were part of the team’s rotation policy. Tristan Stubbs, Anrich Nortje and Keshav Maharaj went out of the side, with Reeza Hendricks, Ottneil Baartman and George Linde coming in.
