Duane Washington speaks out before the game against Crvena Zvezda with a short Instagram message

This week in Belgrade basketball is all about the “Eternal Derby,” as Partizan hosts Crvena Zvezda on Friday at 8:30 p.m in EuroLeague.

The interim head coach of the black-and-whites, Mirko Ocokoljic, will be able to count on two additional players in his rotation.

Power forwards Dylan Osetkowski and Miikka Muurinen have both returned after short absences due to minor health issues. The good news for Partizan fans is that, unlike the game in Cluj, the team will very likely have a full roster of 12 available players.

Partizan guard Duane Washington Jr., who was met with whistles from the crowd in Stark Arena during the recent home win over Bayern Munich, also addressed supporters on social media.

“For the famous club,” (Za slavni klub) he wrote—almost certainly meaning to spell club correctly—accompanied by 20 photos of himself in the black-and-white jersey.

Out of action for sure will be point guard Carlik Jones, who is recovering from a foot fracture, as well as Aleksej Pokusevski, who is expected to return soon from the injury he suffered against Bayern. Mario Nakic will miss the entire season.

Ocokoljic will have the rest of the squad available, and the Round 15 EuroLeague matchup Partizan vs. Crvena Zvezda tips off on Friday at 8:30 p.m. in Belgrade’s Arena.
