The whole Street Fighter cast stormed the stage at The Game Awards, and even took the time to take a crack at the Mortal Kombat 2 movie.
2025 has been an incredibly busy year for gaming already (even if we didn’t end up getting GTA 6), but it’s not over just yet. That’s because The Game Awards is tonight, and it promised a bunch of announcements, reveals, and updates, many of which weren’t leaked and we had no idea were coming. Okay, some of them leaked, but not all of them.
One of the biggest surprises of the show was a first look at the Street Fighter movie, which confirmed all of the wild casting rumours and gave us a look at the full ensemble. The clip wasn’t all, though, as the cast also took the time to take a lightheartedly take a crack at the Mortal Kombat 2 movie.

Looks Like The Rivalry With Mortal Kombat Lives On
In a surprising and hectic moment at The Game Awards, Geoff Keighley gave us our first official look at footage from the Street Fighter movie, before letting most of the cast take the stage and crack some jokes together. It was wild enough seeing Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns next to each other at TGA, but it got even wilder after.
Before revealing the winner of the Best Ongoing Game award, Andrew Schulz, who is playing Dan in the movie, took the microphone and jokingly announced that the Mortal Kombat 2 movie cast were also going to be coming on stage. Schulz then quickly clarified that he was kidding, and that “they only care about the money”.
Before any Mortal Kombat fans get too worked up, Schulz was clearly just kidding, but it was nice to see that the long-lived rivalry between Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat still lives on.
